In common usage, this refers to the large and general sense of a person's taste. Preferences of color, form, content and scale add up to a person's aesthetic.
There is an element of culture and experience in aesthetics. While it is probably true that people all over the world equally enjoy a sunset or a bouquet of flowers, we have different ideas about what tastes good, sounds pleasant, and functions best.
Describe something that you find beautiful, and explain what it is about it that makes it beautiful.

I generally find urban landscapes, and older architecture ( from about the1900s-1980s) beautiful. I guess what I like about them is all of the little details that can make up an old building, and how those details can define the character of the picture.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really heard the term aesthetic used to talk about visual art. I'm most familiar with the term as it applies to game design. Games use a variety of audio and visual elements to create an aesthetic. In terms of games, aesthetic usually refers to how the player feels while interacting with the game.
After looking into aesthetics in visual art, I see how great an overlap there is. This article is primarily about game art, but it uses a plethora of concepts and terms used to talk about visual art.

ReplyDeleteThe type of art that I find beautiful is symmetry. Symmetry creates balance in a drawing and in a photograph and adds a nice effect to it overall. Below is an article all about symmetry.

The style of art I personally love and find beautiful would be dark or unsettling art. Now, the reason is because I have always loved dark and macabre things and strangely that is how my mind usually sees things. Dark art has always been able to make people cringe, think, or admire it in ways they usually can't describe, which to me shows just how powerful the style can be. I sadly can't find any article pertaining to this except for wikipedia, however there are many links to examples of this.

ReplyDeleteSomething beautiful relating to art to me would be outdoors :) I find myself looking at all types of art when I am outside . I love when the trees blow or the sun sets or rises, simple pebbles on the sidewalk, it is all beautiful to me. Some things are repetition , symmetry , off center , centered , lines , rule of thirds and lots more. It is so cool how you can use all types of art to make this world, without art there could be no earth.

ReplyDeleteI personally love the aesthetics of cute art, such as food art, japanese merchandise, and pastel art. Cute photography and graphics are the best because it gives you best feeling when you see something that is absolutely adorable!!

ReplyDeleteWhat I find beautiful is nature, the way the land is, the way it looks, all the colors that are in it. I also find the city beautiful, with all the structures that vary in different shapes and sizes.

I love street photography. Even though you can't get known for it, its very fun to do and see. You get to connect with people and take memories of them in their natural state. Whether the person is young or old, there is always a beauty in it. -Lauren W.

I enjoy outdoor photography. It's very peaceful, and beautiful at all times during the year. It gives people a view into what you see as a photographer. It also allows people to see what kinda things you like to take pictures of.

ReplyDeleteWhat I find beautiful in life is when a full softball team is up and cheering on the fence for their teammate, up to bat. When most people probably don't understand this type of beauty, it's deffinetly a personal experience. But I'm going to try to explain it as best as I can, the beauty in a full softball team, up and cheering for their teammate is the energy and addreniline you feel from the chants and the hope in everyone's voices for the success in your teammate. The up-to-bat batter gets a vibe from their team of support and the energy that's being sent from their team is boosting their confidence for better performance. That is what I find in my life beautiful. Below is an article of how energy and that vibe from your team is so important.

ReplyDeleteI don't really know any one specific thing that i find more beauty in than others. I find nearly any kind of self-expression to be beautiful. I try to see the Beauty in everything (while pointing out its flaws at the same time.) So i guess i find self-expression, or anything someone is passionate about, to be beautiful.
